I'm having trouble getting from "she hated herself" to "she needed to create more". Perhaps if there were the suggestion of passing time so that her need for others would overwhelm her hatred of what she had become and therefore what they would become? I'm sorry to quibble 'cause the paragraph actually reads extremely well!
