Hidden sect

so, as a kind of side story that would be in my book of vampires that I'm never going to write... there is a small, hidden sect of rather ancient, very powerful vampires that do not believe in the ancients. They worship the true ancient, and know that she is female. They are actually powerful enough that their leaders can also create more vampires, and they also make female vampires, but not very often. Every once in a while they try to rebel, and get almost completely obliterated, then build themselves up again in total secret.

Vampire hunters

Do exist. Usually they're actually people that knew the true ancient very well and know her story and hate all other vampires. If they aren't, they never last very long. Usually, the ones that SURVIVE are very powerful, but if they took on an ancient, they probably wouldn't last a second.

Drinking human blood vs. Animal blood

Vampires Can drink either human or animal blood, but they don't get as much blood out of animals, and it doesn't taste as good (although some vampires actually prefer the wilder taste). Most prefer human blood, but when they can't get it, they're willing to drink animal blood.

Does Turning into a vampire change their personality etc.

Sometimes it makes humans go crazy to become a vampire, sometimes it makes them a lot colder and more detached, and sometimes it doesn't do anything. They do remember their previous lives, but sometimes, when they get to old, they start to forget things. Other than the physical changes and new powers (oh, and the teeth of course), their aren't any changes when they become vampires (usually)

How all this backstory ties into today

somebody made an excellent point to me. She said "is your story you will never write all about the ancients and there lives and how the have interacted for forever? Or is that background tto a modern day urban fantasy of interaction between human and vampire worlds?" So, just to make it clear and such, if i ever write this book (which I doubt), it would be set in modern day. In Rome. If you read some of my early posts, I talk about the main character working in a hospital and a vampire turning her into a different kind of vampire and then she goes back in time and turns Romulus into a vampire. That is what my book would be about. Her going back in time to create the first vampire, and all of her other time adventures, and about the ancients being evil and trying to kill her becuase she's more powerful then them but at the same time with many vampires worshipping her. That is what my book would be about, a lot of the background stuff is just to kind of figure out the characters of the ancients and the council and everything so that if I do write this book I know how the characters would react to, well, everything. edit: sorry, my mistake, yes she does go back to change the ancients (the ancients changed all of the other vampires), but Romulus is still kind of the head of the ancients becuase he was the one that got everything organized.

Being Careful about where they get their blood

so, vampires technically can drink from animals, but they don't get as much blood and it is considered to be of a worse quality (although some wilder vampires actually prefer it). But, if they do something like, say, drink from a poisoned animal, then the poison will not react well to their dead body. If they drink from a sick human, they might get the illness, depending on what it is. So as long as their careful, their fine.

Is it possible to become a human again?

very simply, no. No it's not possible to become a human again once you've become a vampire.
